Description | Pongamia glabra also known as pongam, karum tree, poonga-oil tree, indian beech many-branched, spreads quickly, feedy or semi-evergreen with a cylindrical head and a small and short trunk. The pinnate, shiny, bright green leaves, 15-30 cm long, forms the evolving rose bronze, 5-9 ovate to elliptical leaflets. In summer and autumn, they grows racemes, 13 cm in length, with pea-like, mauvais-pink, or cream flowers, heavily aromatized when cut. They have round, normal petals, to 1.5Cm in size, often uncurled.
